Away Bigger Carry-On Review

Away Bigger Carry-On Review

If you know anything about me or read this blog, you know I’m all about traveling with a backpack. For many situations, I will still always choose a backpack while I’m young enough to handle the weight on my back because it is much more portable and convenient than luggage with wheels. However, I decided to upgrade my wheeled luggage for my upcoming Europe trip in June because I will have a rental car for a large portion of it.

Now if you haven’t been living under a social media rock, you’ll know that the Away luggage brand is the new favorite of bloggers and Instagrammers alike. I didn’t choose to buy an Away bag just because it’s trendy, though it does help that the bag I chose is super cute. I bought it because it really is that great of a suitcase, and I’m here today to tell you why.

How I Plan My Trips

How I Plan My Trips

One of the most frequently asked questions I get regarding travel is "Where does one even begin to plan a trip?" Oftentimes, organizing a trip abroad is a daunting task and causes many people to stress out and dread starting. I personally enjoy researching new destinations and dreaming up fun itineraries, so much so that I know where I want to travel for the next 5 years. Today I want to explain to you the general process I use when I’m planning my next trip in the hopes that it helps make your life a little easier.

How To Fly For As Cheap As Possible

How To Fly For As Cheap As Possible

I think we can all agree that no one likes to drop a ton of money on airfare when they could be spending that money on eating in nice restaurants, buying cool souvenirs, or incredible experiences like scuba diving or wine tasting. Unfortunately, flying costs can be a large expense to bear if you desire to travel almost anywhere. Today I'm going to provide you with my best tips for saving money on airfare so that your budget can be put towards the better parts of traveling!

How To Travel With Two Passports

How To Travel With Two Passports

Traveling with two passports can be quite convenient but it is also a confusing process when it comes to immigration control. I decided earlier this year to apply for a French passport, as I am a dual citizen with both America and France. I was born in California but my mother is French, which automatically gives me French citizenship through the right of blood. Once I got my shiny new passport, I was excited at the thought of being able to travel freely and without any time limits throughout the European Union, and to be able to quickly pass through border control. I realized, though, that I had no clue how to travel with two passports, and I didn’t want to risk sitting in some holding room because I messed up with a stern-looking border agent.

Top Tips To Know When Renting A Car In Ireland

Top Tips To Know When Renting A Car In Ireland

Last year, Erin and I went on a road trip through Ireland and Northern Ireland and had a spectacular time. Ireland is a gorgeous country and its residents are some of the friendliest people I have ever met in my life. We were a bit nervous renting a car for our road trip, especially since they drive on the left side of the road. While we can't drive the car for you on your own Irish adventure, we can supply you with our best advice so that you feel as prepared as possible zipping around the Emerald Isle!

Tips To Know Before You Go To Thailand!

Tips To Know Before You Go To Thailand!

Really try your hardest not to overpack! 7/11s are everywhere and you can get absolutely everything you need there. However, sunscreen is really expensive in Thailand, so bring a lot of it. After paying $1 or $2 for everything else, shelling out like $13 for a tiny bottle of sunscreen will be painful. Also, make sure to bring tampons if you're particular about the kind you use. They're difficult to come by in Thailand, and when you do, they're usually some uncommon brand.

My Top 10 Favorite Hostels!

My Top 10 Favorite Hostels!

One of the reasons I’ve been able to travel so frequently and to so many places is because I usually stay in hostels. Now, I know a lot of people who haven’t looked into hostels tend to pull back when I offer them as an accommodation option, but hostels are really fantastic for those on a budget! I promise you that there are loads of amazing hostels that provide a social, clean, and cheap experience that isn’t sketchy.

My Top 10 Essential Travel Accessories!

Today I’m bringing you a listicle that answers one of the most frequently asked questions I get from people planning their first trip - “What items do I consider to be essential for travel?” While you could certainly live without any of these items, I’ve found that I get a TON of use out of them and I’ve had many hostel acquaintances go “Wow, I should start traveling with that!”.

Granada, The Most Magical City In Spain?

Granada, The Most Magical City In Spain?

READER WARNING: The following photos may cause you to immediately book a plane ticket to Granada!

Okay, but seriously, Granada is one of the most beautiful cities I've had the fortune to visit. It was the city I was looking forward to the most on this trip and it did not disappoint. Granada is found in the Andalusian region of southern Spain and rests at the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas (no, not the ones in California!) It has beautiful Moorish architecture, charming streets, and is one of the last places in Spain that serves tapas for free when you order a drink. It also has a very large student population, so it's easy to meet locals of your own age and get a better feel of the city!

A Peek Into My Travel Make Up And Toiletry Bag!

A Peek Into My Travel Make Up And Toiletry Bag!

Hello there! I'm back with a post on what make up and toiletries I brought on my 9 week European backpacking trip. I personally travel with just a carry on sized backpack, meaning I must follow the 3-1-1 rule which states all liquids or aerosols I carry must be 3oz or less and fit in one 1 quart sized plastic bag. Since I was traveling for over two months, I inevitably had to restock up on items like hair conditioner and face wash, but I actually find it fun shopping in foreign countries and seeing what beauty goodies they have.

5 Awesome Tips For Finding The Perfect Hostel!

5 Awesome Tips For Finding The Perfect Hostel!

While some may be of the opinion that any hostel is the perfect hostel as long as it’s got a bed and a toilet, I see things a bit differently. I believe the hostel you stay at can make a huge impact on your perception of the city you’re staying in.

I had a less than favorable experience in Rome because it was nearly 90 degrees at night and the air conditioning in my room was broken. I spent my whole time there cranky and miserable because I barely slept. On the flipside, I had an amazing time in Nice thanks to the lovely people I met at a free dinner facilitated by my hostel.
